Church Aperitivo Bar

A hip resto-bar that was formerly a church, serving sophisticated Italian dishes and classic drinks.
Church Apertivo Bar has a very elegant and modern vibe, with splashes of old; high ceilings, double arched doors, aisles leading up to the altar, which houses the kitchen.

On Thursday, Saturday and Thursday nights, you'll be able to listen to a live DJ.

Polipo
Unfortunately, Church is very dimly lit, so taking food pictures was not optimal. However, it's a great atmosphere to get together with your friends for a laid back luxe kind of night, or a sultry romantic date night with your boo.

The dishes we ordered:
Carpaccio Di Manzo (pictured) - a beef carpaccio with mushrooms and parmigiano reggiano
Battuto Di Tonno - a tuna tartar with avocado, served with plantain chips
Polenta Fries - served with spicy tomato sauce and fontina truffle sauce
Fritto Misto - fried calamari and shrimp with green beans, served with a lemon mint aoili sauce
Polipo (pictured) - braised octopus with cannelini beans
1/2 Formaggi 1/2 Salumi Platter - a cheese and meat board

Carpaccio Di Manzo
We were brought an all cheese board instead of the 1/2 Formaggi 1/2 Salumi that we ordered.
Our server was extremely apologetic and quickly switched the all cheese board for the correct one. The staff was amazing and never allowed our glasses to be empty. Excellent service!

Reservations are not necessary.

About

I can be found wandering around the GTA.

Food is a universal language that brings people together and is fuel for the body and soul. Food, to me, is comforting, exciting and my favourite part of every day.

If you can't decide where or what you would like to eat, I hope that my blog will give you some ideas and make you salivate!
